| Greetings Brothers |
Things are off to a good start this year. The installation on January 14 went smoothly and I’m now officially the Worshipful Master. I’d like to thank the installation team for a job well done. The DeMolay boys did a good job presenting the flag and I was pleased that my younger brother, Marty Traudt, did the lecture. I’d also like to thank everyone who helped with setting up and cleaning up. On Monday, January 16 a number of Corinthian brothers traveled to Meridian Lodge No. 77 in Meriden to have our candidate, Ram Sidi, receive the Entered Apprentice Degree. I’m very happy to welcome our new brother to the lodge. Brother Ram will be moving to Illinois at the end of the month to go to law school out there. As such, he will complete his degrees in a lodge in Illinois. I’d like to wish Brother Ram the best of luck. Wednesday, January 18 was my first Stated Communication as Master. I think I was more nervous for this meeting than any other time in my Masonic career. Not only was it my first meeting as Master, I was trying some new things we hadn’t done before (at least as long as I’ve been around). Our three brother Fellowcrafts demonstrated proficiency at the start of the night. These three brothers have worked very hard in their Masonic work and we’ll be raising them on February 1, 2012. After lodge closed we had a round table discussion downstairs on the future of Freemasonry. It was a rousing discussion and most everyone contributed. I hope to have another one at some point in the future. I’d like to close by saying that I’m happy things are off to a good start and I look forward with enthusiasm to the rest of the year. Fraternally, WB Kristian M. Maiorino, Worshipful Master |
